Skin cancer checks · Australia-wide

Catch it early. Check your skin.

Two in three Australians will develop skin cancer in their lifetime — yet when melanoma is found early, the vast majority of cases are treatable. A 15-minute head-to-toe check with a qualified clinician is one of the simplest things you can do for your long-term health.

How your skin check works

Whether you're booking for yourself or arranging checks for your whole team, the process is quick, private and professional.

1

Book your appointment

Choose a time that suits you. Individual appointments run for 15 minutes; workplace sessions are scheduled around your team's day.

2

Head-to-toe assessment

A qualified clinician examines your skin using a dermoscope in a private room, and answers your questions about sun safety along the way.

3

Results and next steps

You receive a confidential written summary. If anything needs a closer look, we refer you to your GP or a skin cancer specialist.

What's included

Every check covers

  • A brief risk assessment, including personal and family skin cancer history
  • A full-body visual skin examination using dermoscopy
  • Documentation of any spots, moles or lesions that need monitoring
  • Practical education on sun protection and self-checking
  • A confidential written summary with clear recommendations
  • GP or specialist referral where follow-up is needed

For workplaces

We come to you, anywhere in Australia. On-site sessions include an online booking link for staff, a private set-up at your premises, and a de-identified summary report so you can see participation and outcomes — never individual results.

Good to know

A screening check is not a formal diagnosis and doesn't replace care from your doctor. No procedures or removals are performed during appointments.

How to prepare

  • Note any moles, freckles or spots you're concerned about before your appointment
  • Skip makeup or fake tan that could hide areas of skin
  • Wear light, easy-to-remove clothing — you can stay in your underwear, and gowns are available
  • Show as much skin as you're comfortable with; melanoma can appear anywhere on the body

Workplace room set-up

We need a private room (roughly 10–15 m²) with two chairs, a table and blinds if there are windows. Please allow 30 minutes before the first appointment for set-up and 20 minutes after the last for pack-down.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Who should get a skin check?

Anyone can develop skin cancer, and risk increases with age. You're at higher risk if you have fair or freckled skin, red or fair hair, light-coloured eyes, a history of sunburn or solarium use, many moles, a weakened immune system, or a family history of skin cancer. People with darker skin tones have more natural UV protection but can still develop skin cancer — regular checks matter for everyone.

What happens during the check?

After a short risk questionnaire, your clinician performs a head-to-toe visual examination of your skin using a dermoscope — a hand-held magnifying instrument that reveals detail invisible to the naked eye. Anything of interest is documented, and you'll get clear advice on next steps.

Is a screening check the same as a diagnosis?

No. A screening check gives a general overview of your skin health and flags anything that warrants a closer look. It is not a substitute for diagnosis, treatment or comprehensive services like mole mapping. If follow-up is recommended, you'll be referred to your GP or a doctor specialising in skin cancer medicine.

Do I need to be fully undressed?

You show as much as you're comfortable with. Appointments take place in a private room, gowns are available, and you can stay in your underwear or take a staged approach. A full-body check is recommended because melanoma can develop in areas that never see the sun — but partial checks are always your choice.

Is my information confidential?

Yes. Your results are shared only with you. For workplace programs, employers receive a de-identified, aggregated report on participation and overall outcomes — never individual results.

Are any spots removed during the appointment?

No. These are screening appointments only — no biopsies, removals or procedures are performed. If a lesion needs attention, you'll be referred to the right practitioner.
